Commercial Activities

FAS represents a new option both for timber buyers and for forestry producers in our country. For the former, FAS is a new source of timber supply from Uruguay which ensures the customer will receive the product in due time and proper form and with the highest standards of quality.

For forestry producers, FAS is also a new option in the marketing of the timber harvested in their forests. This has been proved in the months which have elapsed since the establishment of the company. Different members of two Associations of Producers (PROFODES and DURAFOR) have traded their timber directly through FAS obtaining greater benefits for their productive undertakings.

FAS intends to continue being a reliable trading option for forestry production of various sizes, from small to large scale forestry undertakings.

In order to cater for our customers’ different needs, FAS provides commercial and logistic solutions adapted to the necessities of each producer of company, showing a great degree of adaptability to provide custom-made solutions.

From the commercial point of view, the producer has a wide range of choices which require different levels of participation on their side. One possibility is to sell the standing forest (yield modality or as closed forest), another option is to sell the timber stacked or loaded onto trucks in the forest, or loaded on trucks and taken to a storage area, or the producers themselves may act as exporters.

This last option involves a greater participation and commitment from producers or forestry companies in the operative and commercial process, which ends with the export carried out by the producers themselves. For that purpose, FAS provides the product’s marketing, the know-how, the logistics, the financing when it is necessary and an open books system.
